Distance wine education is available from many sources and for a variety of prices. Here are a few links to some I have either researched or taken in the past few months.
http://www.winecampus.org/longcourses.htm (Two free courses are available)
https://www.societyofwineeducators.org/ (Professional yearly membership is required for access to the courses and yearly exams are scheduled in major cities for an additional fee.)
http://www.winespectatorschool.com/wineschool/ (One free course is available)
http://www.wset.co.uk/ (Great grape course is currently available)
http://extension.ucdavis.edu/unit/winemaking/certificate/winemaking_for_distance_learners/
(There are some courses that are not currently available and others that would require in person participation)
There is also a wealth of information online, through wine producer's websites, podcasts, talk forums and syndicated columns.
And some of the top blogs can be found at this link: http://www.localwineevents.com/blogs/blog_list.php
If this is all too serious, check out this fun wine game at: http://www.bbr.com/US/wine-knowledge/game.lml?ID=7Q6LBR476BQ00C3
Take some time to try some wine.
